Nexus 4 has a 4g chip

Lg in their statement said that the nexus 4g has a 4g Lte chip ..it uses the same chip found in lg Optimus g but isn't 4g enabled as the other hardware required such as a filter and a signal amplifier are not there ..some users had hope that a firmware update will enable 4g but lg has denied this possibility
